The Angel – KiDULTHOOD Film Twentieth Anniversary

As we celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the genre defining British feature film, KiDULTHOOD, composer The Angel and director Menhaj Huda are interviewed by Eclecticist for his London radio show on Rinse FM, Weds, March 11th at 12pm. With KiDULTHOOD being the first of six collaborations between Menhaj Huda and The Angel, they’ve taken a deep dive into the making of the film and The Angel’s score with behind-the-scenes anecdotes. Eclecticist infuses the discussion with plenty of music from The Angel as well as tracks featured in the film by UK artists, who defined the underground sound of the mid noughties.

Shot by the late, great cinematographer, Brian Tufano, the authenticity of the storytelling and credibility of the score, which encompasses elements of UK hip hop and Grime, still hold strong for a generation that feels a deep sense of nostalgia for a film that is now considered a classic.
